Vacation08

Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering. Ida Scott Taylor

Vacation, ahhhhhhhh!! I spent some much needed time away and it was wonderful! I absolutely love everything about the beach. The way the air smells, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, the sand between my toes, the breeze, the colors of umbrellas, towels, and sand toys spread along the shore, but mostly I love just having the time away from it all. Time to just relax, distress, reflect, spend time with family and friends, and be without the distractions of everyday life…to simply live in the present moment…it was beautiful and the memories everlasting!!

  • Brynne, my “beach bartender”, I miss you so much and can’t wait to see you in October!! Oh, and thanks for the updates!
  • To my putt-putt teammates, dang that one stroke! And check out Ms. short skirt-haha!
  • To my Euchre partner (Bailee): We rock!!! Thanks for teaching me how to play guys
  • SPF30 is not enough sunscreen for my feet…ouch!
  • How about that awesome moonlit walk on the beach, that was nice (JB, CS, BB1&2)!
  • Corey, just how many crab legs can you eat??
  • By the way, has anybody seen Haley???

change of scenery

Starting Sunday July 13th
this will be how I start my dayswith this view, breathing in the fresh ocean air and listening as the waves crash on the shore!

Now, if that could just last longer than 7 days...

Brynne, I hope you read this...6 more days girl!!! Can't wait to see you!!

journey on

With my birthday fast approaching I thought I would reflect just a little on the highlights that have made this past year of my life so great:

  • Two-word theme for this past year: Preserve and Persevere.

I have had some challenges this past year, but through it all I have persevered with the Lord giving guidance and grace. I have preserved His words in my heart, holding on tight, to maintain a purpose in spite of any difficulty. . In my weakness, He is strong. In my need He lingers on. When I come to the end of all I am, and I place my trust in Him, that’s where His strength begins…, in my weakness.”

  • Phenomenal fellowship with friends and family: I have had some of the most incredible conversations this year, conversations that have really made an impact on me, on my thinking, and have challenged me in some way to become a better me.
  • Spent some much needed time with some member of my family rebuilding some relationships that have been neglected over the years and it has been great getting to really know who they are and its funny how much alike we are --Genny ;)
  • Reunited with an old friend (T). What a blessing that has been! And, started a new friendship (S) with someone that has blessed my life in so many ways already and I look forward to whatever God has in store for this friendship as it continues to develop.

It’s been a great 37; I look forward to whatever is in store for me as I continue on life’s journey. I will end this with a quote that has been hanging in my office all year, as it has been my theme quote for the year and because it reminds me that I have a choice about how today and everyday will be:

“We have two choices: either to be discontent with what today is not,
or to rejoice far what it is.”

I choose to rejoice, for this day and everyday that I am given is a blessing –let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Reveal the Riches

"The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but to reveal to him, his own."
