New Year, New Me

Ok, so like I said in my last post...I decided there would be no new years resolutions for me this year, but I would have some goals. Goals, both short and long term, that would focus on me becoming a better me and also on things that I have wanted to do more of, but just haven’t for some reason (and believe me I can some up with reasons, otherwise known as excuses).

1. Get fit (eat better and move more) – seriously, I need to really shed some pounds…so I’ve started working out again and eating better. Words of encouragement from you guys throughout this year would be great!!
2. Travel more – there are so many places that I have not been that I would love to visit. To name a few: New York, California, Colorado etc…
3. Read more – I love to read, but I never leave myself enough time to enjoy it. My goal is to try and read a book every month. So far so good – I just finished “The Memory Keepers Daughter”, which was recommended by a co-worker. It was really good and I hear they are making it into a movie. Today, I started a new book, “Life of Pi”, I hear it’s a good book…
4. Paint the rest of the house - A couple of years ago we had the house remodeled and 4 rooms (the office, living room, dinning room, one bathroom and kitchen) all got a fresh new look. Now, the rest of the house needs it too. So, I need to paint!
5. Paint my grandmother’s kitchen – I made a promise, need to do it!! I will do it soon.

Ok, so there you go! I’ll try to keep you posted on how I do. To others of you out there with new years resolutions or new goals for the year, I wish you all the best!!

1. Loving the New Year. I like the clean slate, fresh start aspect.

2. Not setting any new years resolutions, just some short and long-term goals (I will let you know what they are in a few days).

3. Need to catch up on some movies (lot out that I have not seen); I guess its time for a movie night!

2007 Review

A Year In Review
The Worst of...

• One of my Aunts was diagnosed with breast cancer.
  
• Got called in for Jury Duty (turned out not to be to bad)
• My favorite aunt and uncle separated.
  
• Had the hottest two weeks in Aug. ever...I don't think it was below 105 the whole time

The Best of...

• My aunt with breast cancer got a clean bill of health after surgery and treatment
• Went to see Mama Mia live...was awesome!
• Went to watch the early rounds of the family Circle Cup!! Was something I had been wanting to do, plan to see more games this year
• Went to my first DCI competition, once again something I had been wanting to do for a long time and I plan on seeing more this year! Go Crown!
• Celebrated my 37th birthday

One more Best...On a more personal level, I spend some time getting to know some members of my family on a much deeper level and I have been so blessed by building those relationships. Nothing is better than building relationships and sharing with those we are so fortunate to have with us on our journey through this life.

As you can see I had a pretty good year! I hope that all of you did too!

Merry Christmas

We are heading out today to start our Christmas "rounds". First to Union, SC to visit grandparent, aunt, uncles and cousins. Then we will head on up to Ohio to visit with family there and hopefully see some snow, something that is very rare here in Charleston, SC.

I hope all my friends, family & new blog friends out there in the blog world have a very safe & Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!

Good grief this is a lot of work!

1. I have never lived anywhere other than the state of South Carolina

2. I love the beach...could sit on the beach and people watch all day

3. I love to win at everything...not a sore loser, I just like to win

4. My favorite smells are babies, and cookies baking in the oven

5.The first car I got on my own I had for 13 years. It was a 1989 Nissan Sentra/stickshift. Yes, that means I had it until 2002 and it was still running good.

6. I am planning a trip to New York next year, never been - cant wait!

7. Two and a half years ago I had lung surgery - was very scary, but its all good now.

Okay, I dont know any of my blog friends personally, so I hope they will do this and I don't think I have 7, but...Here goes!
